Burma Burma

There is this little cozy place in Kala Ghoda called Burma Burma that has been on my wish list forever! Thanks to a work event and lunch break ๐Ÿ˜€ I had the opportunity to the head down to Burma Burma. Everything about the restaurant is lovely, the bar seating, the tables, the service and FOOD!

A few things to keep in mind before heading to Burma Burma:

1. Make a reservation, as the place is always packed

2. Go with an open mind to try out interesting stuff

3. Indulge!

The staff is super friendly and will help you with any queries/hesitations you might have as their menu is very exotic!

Ambience: 4/5

Service: 3.5/5

While you wait for your food to arrive, they serve you with sunflower seeds to nibble on, my mother would have been very impressed to see me eat these ๐Ÿ˜‰

We started our meal with the Samosa Soup: Yes, you read that right: I have never heard of or tried a samosa in a soup, but this was a delight to the taste buds and very light on the stomach to start of the meal with. This is a must-have at Burma Burma!

Tea leaf salad: Another must have here! Veggies tossed with tea leaves with cherry tomatoes is an absolute delight to the taste buds which will leave you craving for more. Don’t stuff yourself too much yet, there’s a lot more to eat at Burma Burma.

Potato Buns: steamed potato buns with savory filling were good but not that great. More gaps, if we’d opted for a different flavored bun we might have had a different story to tell.

Khow-suey: we opted for ย the dry Khow-suey and it was a darn good choice! The taste was perfect, topped with slightly sweet corn chips making it an another must have dish here. One of the best khow-suey’s we have had so far yet!

Chamomile tea: They have a unique way of serving tea with 3 minute glass holder each to make the waiting process bearable given you are so excited to try out what’s being served on your table. They also serve you with sunflower seeds and cookies to enjoy with your tea. The tea was delicious and perfectly hot in a cute little kettle which helped us digest all the delicious food we had consumed.

Overall, their portions are good, staff very friendly and food is out of the world which makes for Burma Burma a must must must try place in Mumbai! The ambience is nice and cozy, making it a perfect place for an intimate dinner with loved ones with delicious food.

We look forward to feedback from you guys on your visit and experience at Burma Burma ๐Ÿ™‚
