It’s always a good time for Pizza, so we headed to Francesco’s Pizzeria post work for dinner an evening last week. Having heard so much about this place we were really excited and looking forward to the visit. In the same line as Love Sugar & Dough, their outlet in Kemp’s corner, is small and cozy; with a seating of up to 8 people at one time only.
We ordered The Brutus Pizza as it sounded really good. We waited for a good 15 minutes and just as the pizza was coming to our table, it fell on the floor by the hands of the server and we were told to wait for another 10 minutes to be served a new pizza.
We changed the order to The Notorious Nachos which consists of refried beans, jalapenos, sour cream, salsa sauce and nacho chips on the pizza. Upon the recommendation of the staff, we tried the wheat base on this pizza. The pizza was very bland, base wasn’t well-cooked and any amount of chili flakes and oregano didn’t help us with improving the taste of this pizza. Not recommend at all.
Tartufo: thinking this might change our opinion of the food here, we ordered this pizza with wood roasted zucchini, Thyme leaves, garlic braised mushrooms and truffle oil. just was we placed the order the staff informed us that they were out of truffle oil, and will use olive oil instead, and that the taste won’t be very different. The Tartufo was equally bland and not well cooked either..
We were extremely disappointed with our time here at Francesco’s Pizzeria in Kemp’s corner. We only wish the food tasted as good as it looks in these pictures! Hope no one else experiences the same. Do share your thoughts/experiences at Francesco’s with us 🙂
