5Spice

When my friends were craving Chinese food and were successful in convincing me to consider their choice, I thanked them for at least ten minutes and after every bite of the meal we had at 5 Spice!

We headed to their all vegetarian branch at marine lines and mind you this place is always packed, given its location and all vegetarian outlets. No amount of reservation will help as seats are allocated on first come, first serve basis. So, either be ready to wait, or get there at least half hour before meal time!

Post our wait time, we were shown to our table wherein started our food journey of what we call legendary!

Overall:

Food: 4/5

Ambience: 3/5

Service: 3.5/5

Value for Money: 4/5

Paneer Chilly Dry: Delicious soft Paneer tossed in gravy with chilies is a treat for your taste buds as you begin your meal here. The portions are huge so refrain from ordering too many starters and save some space for your tummy and taste buds for mains and desserts.

Veg. Chili Garlic Noodles: HEAVEN! We love our Chinese food and noodles. Spicy semi-dry noodles loaded with garlic, are delicious and gets better with every bite you take. The portion was huge and even three of us couldn’t finish one bowl of the noodles. Must Have!

Death By Chocolate: If nothing, head to 5 Spice for this dessert only. Soft, gooey chocolate pastry with a side of chocolate ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce sounds like a death we wouldn’t mind giving into. Sinful indulgence would be the two words we would use to describe our experience with this dessert. This dessert is also available in a half and one kilo cake at select 5 Spice outlets.

5 Spice is one of those places we head to when we don’t want to experiment/think much of what to order and we know everything we have will be good (as per our experience so far). The service & seating is very mediocre but the food makes up for all of it on every count. Do share your experiences at 5 spice with us and/or your favorite place to head to for Indian Chinese food.
