The Nutcracker

Ever want to go to a place where everything is perfect- in this imperfect world with our expectations so high? We have discovered just the place for all you foodies and food lovers. The Nutcracker, located in the by lanes of Kala Ghoda; opposite the Forbes one building is a cute little place with great food, service and ambience.

Overall:

Food: 4/5

Ambience: 4/5

Service: 4/5

Value for Money: 4/5

Asian Salad: appeals to the Indian taste buds in every way with its tangy and flavorful dressing. Loaded with vegetables such as zucchini, raw papaya among others and is topped with peanuts making it for a great start to your meal here. We added the tofu in the salad which was very soft and went well with the salad. Definitely recommended to try if you are looking for some ‘flavor’ or something light to start your meal.

Pesto Panini: mushrooms, peppers, zucchini & feta are served on in house herbed bread with a side of potato chips. The Panini is well pressed and a good option if you are looking for something loaded with vegetables and bread. There are several other options on the menu which are also good, so if you aren’t in the mood for a Panini, don’t you worry, they have a huge spread of menu that boasts of a mix of breakfast, lunch or dinner items.

Mushrooms on Toast: Creamy mushroom mix/paste is topped nicely on multigrain bread. This is a perfect appetizer and is delicious. You will spot one serving of this at almost every table at The Nutcracker.

Black bean burger: the patty is well cooked and is topped with caramelized onions & garlic mayo to add to the taste of the burger which didn’t appeal to us very much. Unless you are a fan of black bean/burger, we’d recommend to browse through the other half of the menu (read: breakfast food) here before placing your order.

Smoothie: we had the Oreo smoothie which was topped with granola and oats and was scrumptious! Must must have if you are looking for an accompaniment with your food.

Seven Layer cookie: the desserts here are sinful to a whole new level, which is best if we don’t describe as we might not even do justice to their taste and awesomeness. The seven layer cookie is served with vanilla ice cream and is a recipe that the chef shares with a childhood friend. It is heated for about 20 seconds before served on your table and is an orgasmic experience of ultimate food porn. Trust us; we are at loss of words to describe this experience. We recommend you head here the next chance you get to experience the same.

Warm gooey chocolate cake: just the name gives us chills and tempts us to keep having more and more. One of the best gooey chocolate cakes we’ve had in a while. No calms here, definitely recommended trying this out.

Baked Philadelphia Cheesecake: served with blueberry jam spread, this dessert is delicious, too but couldn’t beat the seven layer cookie or the gooey chocolate cake. If you are an avid fan of cheesecake, this one is for you.

All in all, The Nutcracker is a vegetarians delight and abode for a perfect food experience. The staff is very friendly and will help you with choosing your order, ambience is great and the value for money is justified with the quality and taste of the food served here. This is not our first trip here and we’ve been here several times and our experience has been better with each visit.

What has been your favorite at The Nutcracker? If you’ve not been here yet, what you are looking forward to the most to try out here (we know the answer definitely has the seven layer cookie in it 😉 )
