For any special occasion or celebration in our family, the first place we think of going it to is Sofitel, BKC. This hotel is our preferred choice for several reasons – location, hospitality, quality of food, value for money and the experiences we’ve had here every single time. When we were invited for the chefs table at Tuskers for its new Rajasthan menu launch, we couldn’t control our excitement.Tuskers is the only pure vegetarian restaurant in this category of hotels and is sure to give your taste buds a treat every time you visit here. The new menu has a mix of Rajasthan and its uniqueness – spices, vegetables and taste.
We started with the melon shikanji – a unique twist to the regular shikanji with musk and watermelon.Ratalo ki tikki: Ratalo is basically yams – so a healthier version of aloo tikkis, which you can enjoy without any guilt, as you definitely won’t be able to stop at the first piece.Mathania mirch ka paneer: soft paneer pieces cooked in Mathania mirch, famous from Rajasthan is perfect for those who like masaledaar food.Suwa dal vada: these are made in almost all our houses in different shapes/sizes and we call it by different names. We recommend you eat this when it’s hot – to get the best of the flavors and taste.Pyaaz ki kachori: we visit Rajasthan once a year and make sure to load up on Pyaaz ki kachori during our trip. For those who cannot make it to Rajasthan for whatsoever reason, fret not, just make your way to Tuskers and order a plate of the dish here, you and your tummy will be immensely satisfied. Don’t tell us we didn’t warn you if you find yourself in a food coma and lusting for more with every bite you consume.For the main course we had Sangri ke kofte, Rajwadi dhokli, Kathiyawadi undiyo, Suwa palak chana dal with assorted breads in typical Rajasthan style. We’ve grown up eating these vegetables at home and its very nice to see that these are available and appreciated by foodies across the city/country.For desserts we devoured churma, rajbhog and malpua with rabdi to add to our overall sumptuous experience.We had eaten so much, with no space in our tummy, however, it was a very memorable meal with friends, fun and great food across the dinner table served with lots of love by the chef and his team at Tuskers, Sofitel. We know where we are headed next to celebrate our parents’ anniversary – Tuskers.
