With so many new places opening up in the suburbs (Read: Bandra), town is trying to keep up with the pace and opening up new places for us foodies to eat at. Canto Café and Bar, recently opened in Girgaum or Sukh Sagar, replaced Karma Lounge recently. Read on to find out which place we preferred during our latest visit.

We started with the watermelon and feta salad along with the cheese cigar sticks and kind of got an idea of what the evening had in store for us. The salad was good but the cigar sticks are not to be missed here. Filled with cheese and bell peppers, this is a good way to begin your meal here. Next up was the mushroom on toast – creamy mushrooms on crispy bread is perfect for those who love mushrooms. With bao’s being the new sensation we tried the hariyali paneer bao here and it was delicious! Topped with a scrumptious mint chutney, onions the bao is a safe and good choice to go for. The nachos can be avoided here, but you have an order a pizza for the table. We had the pizza Milano here and when it arrived at our table, we gorged onto it and it was the best decision we made that entire evening. Their pizzas are well-done, at least the one we tried and recommend the same.
We concluded the main course with Thai curry bunny chow – loaded with veggies and perfectly cooked curry in a bread bowl was very different from what we’ve had in a long time. If you like Thai curry and bread, this one should be on your list at Canto.
For dessert we tried the Crème Brule and the molten lava cake – we weren’t very impressed by either but the pizza and Thai curry made up for it.So what we’re saying is – if you are looking for a new place to head to, try Canto café out at least once, you’ll certainly have a good time. The ambience is great the place is beautifully done up, every corner has a different vibe and feel and that’s what we liked about the place. Canto has good music, conveniently located, courteous staff and decent food.
